Camp Equipment List

Camping is hard on clothes and equipment, so bring older things that you won't mind so much if they are damaged. Mark everything with your name. Each camper may bring one suitcase or duffel bag and one sleeping bag or bedroll. Remember that you may have to carry everything you bring in order to get in and out of camp.

All campers: Check list for packing
  • Shorts, 2 or 3 pairs
  • Jeans, 3 pair
  • Blouses or Tshirts, 4 or 8 (No bare midriffs, and no tank tops or spaghetti tops)
  • Shoes, 2 pair sturdy (at least 1 ankle covering)
  • Hat with brim for sun protection
  • Bandana **
  • Stamp for postcard home
  • A Tshirt to dye or draw on
  • Flashlight, extra batteries/bulb **
  • Stamped, pre-addressed envelopes
  • Stationery
  • Pens and pencils **
  • Small backpack or cloth sack to carry soap, shampoo, towel, swimsuit to showers and swimming area **
  • Rope or bungie cords for sleeping bags
  • Dunk bag **
  • Socks, 1 pair per day + 2 extra
  • Underwear, 6-12 sets (1 set per day)
  • Pajamas, 1 pair, warm
  • Sweater or sweatshirt
  • Jacket or coat
  • Bathing suit (1 piece recommended)
  • Thong sandals for showers only
  • Warm sleeping bag and extra blanket
  • 2 bath towels, hand towel, wash cloth
  • Canteen or plastic container for water **
  • Insect repellant (non-aerosol)
  • Toothbrush, toothpaste and cup **
  • Face soap and shampoo (plastic container)
  • Comb, brush
  • Body lotion (plastic bottle)
  • Sunscreen lotion and chapstick with sunscreen
  • Deodorant, personal items (Kotex etc)
  • Kleenex
  • Optional items:
    • Pillow and pillow case
    • Camera and film **
    • Sunglasses **
    • Musical instrument
    • Fun and unusual clothing for talent show
  • Horse camp only:
    • Boots or shoes with a hard smooth sole and a definite heel. You may not ride in sneakers, loafers, or waffle-soled hiking boots.
