• The Coso Artifact - In 1961, a peculiar fossil was found near Owens Lake, California. One geologist said it must be at least 500,000 years old, but others have identified the inside as a 1920's vintage Champion spark plug. Creationists have advanced many theories about the origins and have suggested that if indeed it is a spark plug, it is evidence of ancient civilization. Unfortunately the artifact seems to have disappeared.
